The Honors Program is taking its inaugural Honors-only trip to the culturally rich region surrounding the UNESCO World Heritage city of San Miguel Allende Mexico in Summer I, 2018. Only about 3.5 hours from Mexico City, you will be able to immerse yourself in the language, food, archeology, history, literature, and culture of Mexico, while staying at the luxurious Hacienda Santa Clara. This is an experience-rich trip that will be reserved only for Honors students in good standing and will be extremely affordable. You will learn to cook local food, hear lectures from local experts, travel throughout the region, participate in a sweat lodge and other indigenous cultural practices, go on nature and archeological tours, experience Mexico’s high tech sector, and visit the ancient city of Teotihuacan outside of Mexico City.
